Learn German with language courses for refugees (Sprachkurse für Geflüchtete)
The VHS offers special language courses for refugees and asylum seekers. These courses help people to learn German and find their feet in Germany. They are aimed at refugees and asylum seekers who are unable to take part in integration courses or vocational language courses organised by the BAMF or who have to wait longer than three months for a place.
What are language courses for refugees?
The language courses for refugees are offered from A1 to B1 level. As a rule, up to 300 teaching units (UE) are planned for each language level. The courses are practical and orientated towards everyday life
How much do the courses cost?
Participation is free of charge. The state of Lower Saxony covers the costs.

- Valid residence document
- Not an EU citizen
- No authorisation for integration course or vocational language course
