Which course suits you best?

Open German courses (Offene Deutschkurse)
- Flexible language courses that focus on language acquisition
- Anyone can take part - no prerequisites and regardless of residence status
- German courses from level A1 to C1 - suitable for a language visa and au pairs
- Short-term offers (approx. 9 weeks per course) individual and without obligation
- Participation in official examinations is optional
- Self-financed

Integration courses (Integrationskurse)
- State-subsidised courses for integration:
- Combination of German lessons aiming for B1 and orientation to life and culture in Germany.
- For people who want to live permanently in Germany and integrate.
- Participation only with authorisation (BAMF) or obligation (job centre/foreigners authority).
- Long-term offer (at least 12 months) with compulsory attendance.
- Obligation to take two examinations (DTZ and LiD)
- 50 % of the costs are paid by the BAMF; additional cost exemptions are possible.

Professional language courses (Berufssprachkurse)
- State-subsidised course:
- German lessons with goal B2 for the job
- For people with language level B1
- Participation only with a certificate of eligibility (job centre, employment agency or BAMF)
- Medium-term offer (approx. 6 months) with compulsory attendance.
- In most cases, the costs are covered by the BAMF.
